Statement from the Narges Foundation

Today in Oslo, the world was reminded that the pursuit of peace remains humanity’s highest calling. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to María Corina Machado for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

At a time when peace has become both fragile and rare, the defense of human rights and the rule of international law has never been more urgent, at a time that around the world, people are yearning for democracy and moral integrity, inspiring leaders like María Corina Machado remind us that courage and conscience still have the power to shape history.

She gives us hope, and strengthens our resolve to keep fighting for freedom, justice, and human dignity.

On behalf of the Narges Foundation, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to María Corina Machado. We honor your courage and unwavering commitment, and we stand with you in the difficult and vital work of leading with conscience, defending justice, and keeping the hope of peace alive.
